Nanoptic
Research Lab. is participating in a leading research related
to bio-chip development such as Lab-on-a-chip and Micro-TAS which are diagnosis/treatment
instruments of medical biotechnology based on MOEMS(Micro-Optical-Electro-Mechanical
System) technology, a longterm business field.Bio-chip
is being acknowledged as a high value-added technology
which is necessarily required in the wide range of health
and medical, agricultural, environmental, food, and chemical
industry. And the global market estimate of this industry
amounts to as big as US$3,300 million by 2004, and the
governments, venture businesses and big pharmaceutical
companies in the advanced countries are developing it
investing huge amount of research budget. Bio-chip research
keenly needs R&D cooperation and work dividing due
to its multi-disciplinary feature that it should cover
biochemistry, physics, electronics, and mechanical engineering
as well. Therefore, Nanoptic Research Lab. is carrying
out the leading research in the field of micro flow diagnosis
which is required for industrialization of bio-chip related
technology, and at the same time it is performing a leading
activity for research cooperation system with the leading
scientists of domestic and overseas. The scientists in
cooperation with Nanoptic Research Lab. or advisory boards
are as below, and Nanoptic will establish more joint research
with more various institutions in the future.
- Prof. Chong H. Ahn : Univ.of Cincinnati.
- Prof. Carl D. Meinhart : Univ.of California at Santa
Barbara.
- Prof. Akikazu Kaga : Osaka University.
- Prof. Alexander G. Poleshchuk : IA&E SB RAS |
